Farmers Kitchen + Bar

It's a little confusing how and where to order, but once we got that figured out, I'm very happy we stopped here. The food is so fresh and delicious. The staff didn't pay much attention to us since we sat ourselves, but I still think this is a 5 star place. I love that they use food sourced from the farmers market. The craft sodas are hit or miss, probably skip those unless you feel like a splurge. Easy lunch spot before or after hitting the museum or us bank!

Amazing food, fair prices, gorgeous space. They manage to make it feel so open and airy despite being quite small. I had the Fern+Dale with a side salad and a Rosemary Palmer. All fantastic (even the side salad, which had no business being that good. I could have eaten an entire plate of just that!). The fact that you're supporting local is like a cherry on top. Def recommend.

BE AWARE - they add a 20% tip to all bills no matter how many people are in your party. Farmers Kitchen sounds good in concept but it doesn’t live up to what they promise. The restaurant is really small and there isn’t a natural spot where you can “checkin” for your reservation or to get a table. There seems to be a lot of staff but everyone seemed very stressed and rushed. Everyone was very friendly. We did the cheese platter - lots of wheat bread triangles but no crackers or crusty bread. Some of the cheese there was only enough for one person to try. I had the Fern+Dale Sandwich, it was ok. The jam on the bottom made the bread soggy. I also had the wild rice soup with my sandwich, I found that this was really lacking flavor. It was very bland, maybe it’s because I’m used to chicken in it, but I don’t know, I only ate a few spoonfuls. My husband had the short rib sandwich. He said the meat was very good but really heavy on horseradish. He had the jo Jo’s with his sandwich, and those were good. My friend had the grilled cheese with ham. Unfortunately the sandwich was soggy not crispy. My other friend had the schnitzel sandwich, which again she said the pork was good but the sandwich tasted like it was missing something. The chips are corn tortilla chips which were ok. I think it has the potential for being really good but right now it misses the mark. I give people a pass right now because places seem to be short staffed, but we didn’t get a lot of help - I was just drinking water and no one came around to fill until we were almost done eating. They brought our CC slip to sign and no pen. Cost, we had a party of four, the cheese plate and 3 alcoholic drinks - total tab with the 20% tip they added was $166, which for 4 sandwiches and chips seems expensive.

Had brunch on 11/11/23. An automatic 20% service charge is added to every check. This is after we have ordered at the counter, seated ourselves and gotten our own water. And it was not clear that we were supposed to order at the counter rather than at our table so we waited perhaps 15 minutes for a server before asking a staff member for help. I understand and support the restaurant’s need to add a service charge but these are normally in the range of 4-6 % in my experience. I enjoy tipping for good service but at Farmers’ no table service is provided.

Went to celebrate a birthday because kid was there with agriculture class on field trip .. Food was so good, a party of 8 enjoyed it all from apps to dessert .. Service was a little slow at first but they were busy .. Our waitress was just amazing though & I would totally accept recommendations from her again any time .. We didn't even mind the confusion at times with having 3 people checking in on us periodically .. Our reservation somehow was missed but manager was so apologetic & comp'd a couple of apps for us for our patience .. Food totally made up for any wait time we had .. I left full as did everyone else .. Birthday kid got free dessert .. They left happy so I'm happy!! We will definitely be back ..

A great new spot to try out! All locally grown and produced menu items! we tried the waldorf wild rice salad, a shareable platter with cheese and crackers(!!!!) and had a few different coffee drinks (iced latte, mocha latte and maple cream cold brew!) - overall an excellent spot to try out- we will be back!! also- the presentation 10/10! unfortunately we were already a few bites in before we thought to take some pictures! soon they plan to open for full breakfast and dinner i believe as well! support this up and coming business- you’ll feel extra good knowing you are supporting all local vendors as well! 10/10
